Your First Visit

At your first visit to our office, Dr. Bonner will listen to your concerns and discuss your goals regarding orthodontic therapy. He will then discuss possible treatment options and answer any questions you may have. A treatment coordinator will also present an estimate of the fee for your care and explain any dental insurance questions. Orthodontic records may be completed at your first visit or can be scheduled at a subsequent appointment. For those patients not yet ready for braces, we will enroll you in our Observation Club! Ask us about the club at your appointment.

Orthodontic Records

Orthodontic records typically include digital photographs of the teeth and face, digital X-rays (panoramic and cephalometric), and impressions of your teeth. The information from the diagnostic records will allow Dr. Bonner to develop a custom treatment plan that addresses the concerns and goals of each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as your teeth move during orthodontic care.

At your consultation, Dr. Bonner and his treatment coordinator will review your diagnostic records on an iMac computer and discuss your orthodontic options in detail.  The fee for your treatment will be presented with financing options (0% interest).

Regular Appointments

The appointment when we place your appliances (braces, expander, etc.) usually takes from one to two hours. You'll then see us at regular intervals 6 to 10 weeks apart for adjustments, which generally takes about 20 minutes. Our regular office hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5 PM, however, we do see patients on Tuesdays until 6:00 PM. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please call us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. It is sometimes difficult to reschedule since most appointments are made 6 to 10 weeks in advance.

Payment Policies

The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. We will discuss all fees and payment options before treatment begins. We offer 0% financing plans with payments paid monthly over the course of treatment.  We also offer a discount for payment in full before treatment begins as this reduces our billing costs. We also accept assignment from most insurance plans, and file the necessary claims to your insurance company. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.

If you have insurance, we will help you to determine the coverage you have available. We ask that you assign your insurance benefit to us. The balance will be arranged for you to pay (see above). Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company. Thus, the insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf.
